Diablo 4 Season 4: A Power Surge for Builds New and Old

Diablo 4 season 4 promises a major shakeup to how we power up our characters! In a recent interview with GamesRadar+, lead producer Tim Ismay revealed that Season 4 is all about revamping the item system in a way that will impact everyone – including players returning to older characters.

Revisiting the Past

Season 4 takes players back to the Eternal Realm, meaning you can dust off those old characters and see how they perform with the latest item upgrades from previous seasons. This is an exciting way to re-experience your favorite builds and see how far they can go.

Master working: A New Upgrade Path

Ismay hinted at powerful new systems that open up possibilities for character builds. One of these is called “Master working”, and it has the potential to take builds that were merely decent (or even forgotten) and elevate them to incredible levels of strength.

Ismay is particularly interested in revisiting old favorites like the Necromancer and Incinerate Sorceress and seeing just how overpowered they can become with these new tools!

PTR Power Testing

Before Season 4 officially lands (May 14th), you can try out all the new toys on the Public Test Realm (PTR). Ismay’s team hopes that some of the most powerful combinations on the PTR will make it to the new season relatively untouched. The idea is to give players a thrilling sense of power without completely breaking the game.

The Future of PTR

While future PTRs are a possibility for Diablo 4, the developers also want to preserve the excitement and surprise that comes with each new season.
